How to Play Wasp Solitaire
A solitaire game where you can move any stack of face-up cards from anywhere. Use 1 deck (a total of 52 cards) and aim to clear the game by arranging each suit from King (K) to Ace (A)!
- On the tableau, create four sets of 13 cards each, arranged in descending order from King to Ace by suit.
- At the start of the game, seven columns of seven cards each are dealt. In the first four columns, three of the seven cards are face-down, while all other columns have all cards face-up.
- Any face-up card can be moved, even from the middle of a column.
- All covering cards above the moved card are moved together.
- A moved card must be placed on another card of the same suit and one rank higher.
- For example, a 7 of Hearts can be placed on an 8 of Hearts.
- When 13 cards of the same suit are arranged in order, they are removed from the tableau and moved to the edge of the screen.
- Any card can be placed in an empty column. It is also possible to move multiple cards together.
- Kings can only be moved into empty columns.
- No cards can be placed on top of an Ace.
- Click (or tap) to deal one card to each of the first three tableau columns.
- Using a Joker allows you to forcibly move a necessary card (but decreases your score).
- Click the Hint button to highlight movable cards (but decreases your score).
- Click the Undo button to revert to the previous state (but decreases your score).

QWhich is more difficult, Wasp or Scorpion?
AWasp allows any card to be moved to an empty column, whereas Scorpion restricts this to Kings only. As a result, Scorpion is generally more difficult.
QHow can I win at Wasp Solitaire?
AThe following strategies are key to winning:
- Be careful not to trap Aces
Cards cannot be placed on top of Aces, so if an Ace is exposed, that column can become dead space.
If an Ace is near the top of a tableau column, try to reveal it as late as possible.
- Make good use of empty columns
If you can temporarily use an empty column to organize cards and then clear it again, prioritize using it.
Additionally, try to keep high-ranking cards at the top of empty columns for better organization.
- Avoid unnecessary moves
Just because a move is possible doesn’t mean it’s beneficial. Moving cards without a plan can make sorting harder.
For example, if you place the 7 of Spades on the 8 of Spades while the 9 of Spades is below them, you may block future moves.
Always aim to arrange cards from King to Ace in sequence for easier reorganization.
- Prioritize uncovering face-down cards
The four leftmost columns contain face-down cards, so uncovering them early increases your available moves.
Cards covering face-down cards should be moved as soon as possible while keeping the game organized.
As a rule of thumb, use stockpile cards only when no other moves are available.
QIs every Wasp Solitaire game winnable?
ANo. Depending on the initial card layout, some games are impossible to win. The win rate is estimated to be around 30%. However, using the game's unique "Joker" feature can significantly improve your chances of winning.
QHow long does a game of Wasp Solitaire take?
AGame time varies depending on the player's skill, but it typically takes around 5 to 10 minutes.
